WHEN YOUR CHAUFFEUR IS YOUR BROTHER-IN-LAW: NEPOTISM IN CHINESE COMPANIES.
Many Exchanges make it a legal requirement for listed companies to provide details of employees who are related to top management.. Many Chinese-owned companies employ relatives in their business. See attached. Having in-laws in the company seems to be especially prevalent. This company employs the boss' 3 brother-in-laws (BIL) and 1 sister-in-law. His wife is must be delighted. 
1. Having a BIL in charge of the Purchasing Dept keeps a watchful eye out for staff taking kickbacks from suppliers.
2. Having a sex-pot sister-in-law as Customer Service Executive can only be good for the business.
3. Wife as Assistant to CEO: In this company, the CEO had two mistresses and the wife tipped off the authorities on the company's tax evasion, and half-destroyed the company.
4. Brother-in-law as chauffeur: The CEO was kidnapped and ransom paid. The police found that his BIL was in cahoots with the kidnappers

Using as case study China's CSI300 Index, here’s how our model resolves each one and delivers a robust, reproducible Risk‑On/Risk‑Off signal. 1) Beyond “memoryless”: markets have persistence and aging Problem: Standard Markov chains assume memorylessness—the next state depends only on the current state, not on how long we’ve been there. Markets don’t behave that way; regimes “age” and persistence changes with time. Our solution: We use a hidden semi‑Markov model (HSMM) with explicit duration modeling. Each regime has a duration distribution (e.g., Negative Binomial), and transitions are allowed to depend on time spent in the state.
